Manager / Associate Director, Business Development from a Life and Health Reinsurer (Malaysia)

Job Description
A member of the SEA Business Development team to support and drive business development processes and contribute to achieving the company’s financial target.
 

Key responsibilities include:

- Support and drive reinsurance quotations process, including but not limited to execution of daily quote activities (reinsurance term sheet / proposal preparation, treaties etc).

- Proactively project manage client requests.

- Liaise internally across teams (mainly pricing and underwriting team) to ensure the company’s deliverables are meeting client’s needs and satisfying the company’s service standards.

- Support the team in implementing seamless solutions for clients that will drive profitable and sustainable growth for the company.

- Conduct research proactively to support business development initiatives

- Develop and create marketing and presentation materials and manage the company's intellectual properties (e.g. client relationship update, library etc.).

- Perform research and analyze latest marketing/product trends in the Southeast Asian markets and present results internally and externally.

- Support and drive project work including establishing internal reports and analyzing profitability of existing treaty lines.

- Support Head of Business Development on other business matters and tasks as and when required.

 

What we are looking for

- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or related disciplines

- FSA qualification or equivalent; high calibre candidates who are making good progress to being fully qualified will also be considered

- 5-10 years’ experience in a life insurance (including but not limited to Product Development, Product Pricing etc.), insurance consulting or reinsurance company, experience in product development or pricing will be an advantage

- Highly organized, solutions focused and delivery-orientated with the ability to work with multiple concurrent projects

- Ability to work effectively under pressure

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others

- Strong client services ability with excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal). Proficiency in another Southeast Asian language is preferred

- Strong project management skills and ability to partner with internal & external stakeholders in a collaborative manner

- Strong critical and innovative thinking, with the ability to develop business insights
